Port Stanley Lions Club- Roller Skating Rink, 1961

The Port Stanley Lions Club opened a roller skating rink in the village in June 1961. Members of the club had been busy readying the rink for the past months. The new rink was located on the site of the old open-air dance floor in the beach area. In this photograph, members are shown erecting the office and storage building. Dave Russell is at the foot of the ladder while Max Marr on the left and Fred Kirk work on the roof.
